Have you ever wanted to create your own book or magazine? In this unique school holiday workshop, children will become writers, artists and designers as they create their very own handmade zine from start to finish.
A zine is a mini publication where absolutely anything is possible. Children can create comics, joke books, fantasy adventures, animal magazines, poetry collections, storybooks, how-to guides or imaginative worlds entirely of their own making.
Using drawing materials, paint, collage, stamps, markers and mixed media supplies, kids will write, illustrate and design every page before assembling their finished publication to take home.
This workshop combines visual art, storytelling and creativity in a way that encourages confidence, imagination and self-expression.
What We’ll Create
Children will:
- Plan and design their own zine
- Write stories, comics or articles
- Illustrate pages using mixed media
- Learn basic publication and layout techniques
- Assemble a finished handmade magazine
