Sunset at the Lake

I seem to go back to painting the sky often – especially the sky over y home in Wagga NSW. This piece was inspired by an amazing photo taken by a creative near me – she has a knack for capturing light and drama which are the elements that most inspire my art. Generously she allowed me to interpret her photo into this piece of art. It is heavily textured oil paint created using only palette knives. I wanted to convey the movement of the sky at sunset and the almost violent splashes of colour.
