About the Artist
Wayne Emerson is a much-loved member of the gallery community and has been painting with us twice a week for nearly five years. Now 72, Wayne has Down syndrome and brings an incredible sense of joy, creativity, and enthusiasm to everything he does.
Before retiring, Wayne worked for 42 years at Kurrajong Timber. These days, he spends his time enjoying painting, arts and crafts, and connecting with others through community activities. Known for his signature hot pink outfits, Wayne is instantly recognisable and brings that same vibrant energy into his artwork.
His practice is driven by a genuine love of creating, resulting in works that are expressive, heartfelt, and full of personality.
