A weekly place to create, grow and belong

Our after-school art classes give children the time, materials and encouragement to explore their creativity, learn new skills and feel proud of what they can do.

There is no pressure to be “good at art” here. Children simply need to arrive ready to have a go.

MORE THAN JUST AN ART CLASS

There is something really special about watching a child discover what they can create when they are given the freedom to experiment.

Some children arrive with a hundred ideas. Others need a little encouragement before they begin. Both are completely welcome.

Our artists guide each child through the project while leaving plenty of room for individual choices, creative thinking and personality.

The result is not a room filled with identical artworks. It is a room filled with children who have made something that feels like their own.

WHY ART CLASSES?

Art classes help children build confidence, independence and creative problem-solving skills. They learn to experiment, make their own decisions and work through challenges when something does not go according to plan.

Just as importantly, our classes provide a welcoming place where children can relax, create and spend time with others who love making things too.

NO ART EXPERIENCE NEEDED

We welcome complete beginners, confident young artists and everyone in between.

Children do not need to arrive knowing how to draw or paint. Our job is to help them explore, learn and discover what they enjoy.

Each class includes:

  • All art materials and equipment
  • Professional instruction and support

During the year, students may also create artworks to enter in local art shows and take part in our end-of-year Christmas exhibition.

A SAFE AND SUPPORTIVE PLACE TO CREATE

The most important part of yellowhouseart is the way children feel when they are here.

We want every child to feel welcome, capable and comfortable enough to be themselves.

Our teachers hold current Working With Children Checks, and first aid-qualified staff are available.

We also have a Quiet Zone for children who may need a little break from the activity or noise of the studio.

Children using self-managed or plan-managed NDIS funding are welcome in suitable classes. Families are encouraged to contact us before booking so we can discuss their child’s individual needs.

No. All art materials and equipment are included unless we contact you about something required for a particular project.

Comfortable clothing that can handle a little paint, glue or creative mess is best.

Yes. We provide a simple snack and water during the class. Please include allergy and dietary information when booking.

Please contact us to discuss current availability and which class would be the best fit for your child.

Children using self-managed or plan-managed NDIS funding may be able to use their funding for suitable classes when the service aligns with their plan and goals.
