About the artist
Georgia Thompson is an emerging Australian artist based in the Riverina region of New South Wales. Best known for her expressive animal portraits, Georgia creates warm and character-filled paintings that celebrate the animals that become such an important part of our families, farms and everyday lives.
Working primarily in acrylic paint, Georgia combines confident brushwork, contemporary colour and careful observation to capture far more than the physical appearance of her subjects. From a cheeky expression to the tilt of an ear, she has a natural ability to recognise the small details that reveal an animal’s individual personality.
Dogs, cats, horses and farm animals regularly feature in Georgia’s work. Her connection to regional Australia and country life gives her a genuine understanding of the relationships people form with their animals. Each painting is approached with warmth, humour and affection, creating artworks that feel personal and familiar.
