About the artist
Rebecca Hutchinson is an Australian contemporary artist based in Wagga Wagga, New South Wales. Her richly layered acrylic paintings celebrate the beautifully ordinary moments that become some of our most treasured memories.
Inspired by the Riverina landscape, Rebecca is drawn to soft country light, dusty paddocks, wide skies, old homesteads and sunsets that seem to linger over the horizon. Her paintings capture the warmth and atmosphere of regional Australia, creating scenes that feel nostalgic, peaceful and deeply familiar.
Rebecca works predominantly in acrylic paint, slowly building colour and detail across the canvas. Her approach balances observation with emotion, allowing each painting to tell a story rather than simply document a place. Country homes, working farms, cattle, coastlines and everyday family moments all become subjects worthy of being remembered.
Family is central to Rebecca’s life and creative practice. As a wife, mother of four boys and nurse, she often paints in the busy spaces between family life, school activities, sport, work and early-morning runs. These experiences have shaped her appreciation for the small, fleeting moments that can so easily pass unnoticed.
Rebecca’s work invites viewers to recognise something of their own story within each scene—a childhood holiday, a familiar landscape, an evening spent outside or a place that has always felt like home.
Through colour, light and storytelling, Rebecca preserves ordinary moments and transforms them into lasting, meaningful works of art.
